Artash’s Innovation Wins EU4Ocean’s Youth4Ocean Forum Marine Research Project Award

Youth STEM Matters Author Artash Nath recently won EU4Ocean’s “Youth4Ocean Best Young Ocean Advocates’ Project” for his innovative work on his project “Monitor My Ocean”.

His project, which was featured in the April Community Updates, measures underwater noise from shipping traffic in global oceans using hydrophone data.  This data can then be used to help protect marine mammals from stress caused by the noise of boats, and can be utilised to reduce the frequency of marine mammal collisions with ships.

Congratulations Artash!
