As part of the Youth STEM Matters Team, we’re delighted to announce the return of the Youth STEM Matters Research Conference; a unique opportunity to showcase and celebrate the positive impact young people are driving in the world through STEM research!
Taking place virtually on 29th July 2023, 2-6pm BST (GMT+1), the Research Conference will highlight the importance of advancing youth participation in global research and sustainable development, allowing youth to raise their voices and make important strides in STEM research. Here at Youth STEM Matters, we believe that young people can become key stakeholders and active contributors in the advancement of scientific research & communication for a more sustainable world. That’s why we’re equipping YOUth with the necessary skills and opportunities to tackle global challenges through the 4th Youth STEM Matters Research Conference. The virtual event is open to young people globally and it is completely free to attend, but spaces are limited!
The 2023 Research Conference builds on the success of last year’s event, which saw nearly 250 youth from over 40 countries come together, for an event that was described as “enlightening and intriguing” and “an incredible platform”, with attendees rating the event with a mean score of 9.2/10.
This year’s event is set to be equally inspiring, empowering, and impactful, so whether you’re a young person, supporter or organisation, read on to find out how YOU can get involved!
The Research Conference will feature a diverse line-up of amazing speakers from around the world, who will share their wealth of knowledge, experience and advice throughout the event. We’ll be featuring young people’s STEM research and innovations through our Research Showcase, sharing opportunities for you to get involved in Youth STEM Matters, and celebrating our incredible Youth STEM Matters Team and Authors through our 2023 Youth STEM Matters Awards. With a key focus on advancing youth participation in global research and sustainable development, it’s set to be an awesome day of exploring the future of STEM and connecting youth with the opportunities and platforms to drive change for a more sustainable world!

Research Showcase
Have a STEM-based project you want to share with the world? The Research Showcase is the platform for YOUth! You’ll get the chance to display your project at the Research Conference in our virtual STEM exhibition, and we’ve also got several spaces in our programme for young people to give a 10 minute talk about your project live on our virtual stage. Youth globally aged 22 & under can apply (as an individual or a team), by completing our short application form.
Applications must be submitted by the deadline on Friday 14th July, 5pm BST (GMT+1).
