Announcing our ‘STEM for Climate Action’ Youth STEM Matters Research Conference

The Youth STEM Matters team is excited to announce our upcoming Youth STEM Matters Research Conference!

Mark your calendars for 30th October 2021, 2-6pm BST (GMT+1), when we'll be bringing young people from all over the world together, to drive climate action!  Taking place just days before COP26, the UN Climate Change Conference, this time, our Research Conference will be themed around ‘STEM for Climate Action’, so it’s packed with talks and workshops covering climate justice, how tech is tackling climate change, young researchers protecting our planet, and much more!  At the Research Conference we’ll showcase and celebrate the difference that young people are making through STEM research, and provide youth with the skills and opportunities they need to tackle global challenges.

Read on to find out how YOU can get involved!

Attend the Research Conference

Join us for a day packed with inspiring talks, opportunities and celebration of youth using research to change the world - all themed around tackling climate change!  The Youth STEM Matters Research Conference is for you if you are…

  • A young person interested in STEM or a future changemaker - first and foremost, the Research Conference is designed with YOUth in mind.  In fact, it’s been designed entirely for youth, by youth.  Join us to gain new opportunities, showcase your STEM projects in our virtual exhibit, and be inspired  to create a change in the issues you care about.

  • Someone who works with young people in STEM - whether you’re a teacher/university lecturer, a STEM competition organiser, or are representing a science fair, join us to hear about how the young people you work with can access our opportunities.

  • A STEM professional or organisation - be inspired by how the next generation are taking action for a better world, and discover why you should join our mission to empower youth to use STEM to tackle the world’s biggest challenges!

Apply to be part of the Research Showcase

The Research Showcase gives YOUth a platform to share your science, technology, engineering & maths (STEM) based projects with the world.  Open to youth aged 22 & under globally, selected individuals and teams will have the opportunity to display their research project as part of our virtual exhibition.  We also have several spaces in our programme for young people to give a 10 minute talk about their project live on our virtual stage.

Applications are open from 15:00 BST (GMT+1) on Monday 11th October, and all applications must be submitted by the deadline on Wednesday 20th October 2021, 17:00 BST (GMT+1).
