We’re a We Are Family Foundation Three Dot Dash Coalition Partner!
We’re pleased to announce that Youth STEM 2030 has joined the Coalition of We Are Family Foundation’s global youth initiative, Three Dot Dash!
The Coalition is made up of hundreds of extraordinary organizations around the world, and we’re very excited to be one of them. We’re joining organisations including UNICEF, AIESEC, Youth at the United Nations, and UNESCO (to name a few!) to act as the eyes and ears on the ground for WAFF and Three Dot Dash, creating year round opportunities for youth leaders globally.
Three Dot Dash powers the most influential social entrepreneurs between the ages of 13-19, who have found a solution or innovation to address a basic human need. It is a global youth initiative of We Are Family Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation founded in 2002 as a response to 9/11 by music legend Nile Rodgers, and was inspired by the late poet and peacemaker, 13 year old Mattie J.T. Stepanek, who said in his New York Times Best Seller “Just Peace: A Message of Hope”:
“Peace is possible, when your basic human needs are met.” - Mattie J,T Stepanek, Poet and Peacemaker.
We believe that science, technology, engineering and maths are key in ensuring that all people everywhere have their basic human needs met - to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals, including SDG 16 - Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions. By joining as a Coalition Partner, we’re affirming our commitment to amplifying the impact of young people who are making an extraordinary impact, and connecting youth with new opportunities to change the world through STEM.
As members of the Coalition, we’re looking forward to nominating young people who are making a difference through STEM as Three Dot Dash Global Teen Leaders, an incredible opportunity for young people to increase their impact through mentorship, collaboration and network-building. We’ve made our 2020 nominations and wish all nominees the best of luck!
