On the standard of applications, Mhairi McCann, Youth STEM 2030 Founder & CEO said:
“The standard of applications for the Design Team was phenomenal - even narrowing down to our 23 shortlistees was incredibly challenging - so I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who shared their passion and drive for creating change with us through their applications and interviews.”
We’re hugely grateful to Safa Haroon, 2020 Youth STEM Summit Design Team Member, who gave up her weekend to join Mhairi to interview the shortlisted applicants. Safa said:
“Having had the pleasure of meeting the shortlisted applicants for the design team, I have to say that the future of STEM and the summit itself is in incredible hands. The people I met are passionate, creative and committed to a cause and I’m so excited to see what the future holds for the new design team and all of the others who applied. Congratulations! Whether you made it into the team or not, you’ve come so far and the world deserves to witness the heights you are going to reach!”
And on what that means for the future at Youth STEM 2030, she continued…
“Once again, youth globally have shown their drive to create a better world - and as a direct result, we’re now creating even more opportunities, support and platforms to empower youth as changemakers in STEM...Stay tuned for more opportunities to get involved in the Summit opening up next week!”
