Introducing Youth STEM Matters!
Here at Youth STEM 2030, we’re thrilled to announce the launch of our flagship project - Youth STEM Matters!
Youth STEM Matters is a youth-led scientific journal with a difference. Created and led entirely by young people, for young people, Youth STEM Matters publishes articles written by the world’s youth, covering all science, technology, engineering & maths (STEM) disciplines. Every article we publish is linked to at least one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, meaning we provide youth with a platform to tackle some of the world’s biggest challenges.
Our ethos is to make each article the best it can be. Whether the write up of a STEM based project as an original research or review article, or a less formal science communication article, we’re committed to our authors. By operating a double blind peer review process, and having a clear Ethics Policy, we ensure scientific integrity in the work we publish.
Youth are already experimenting, designing and innovating, but the power of youth to use STEM to make a difference remains an untapped potential. That’s why we seek to create new opportunities for youth and maximise the impact of every article. This means that young people benefit, and so does our planet.
Speaking of opportunities, right now we’ve got opportunities to join our Youth STEM Matters Volunteer Team - a global team of youth, whose combined skills and enthusiasm lead the running of Youth STEM Matters. Not only that, submissions to Youth STEM Matters are now OPEN, meaning you can be amongst the first to share your research, ideas and innovations with the world!
Speaking of the launch, Youth STEM 2030 Founder & CEO Mhairi McCann said: “This project has been several months in the making, and I’m so pleased that we can now open up these opportunities to other young people! Myself and the Youth STEM Matters Co-Founders - Adam Khan-Qureshi, Anne-Rosa Bilal, Michael Flynn, Roberto Parisi and Scarlett Westbrook - can’t wait to see other young people getting involved! Collectively, our message to other young people is:
“We’ve built the platform, so YOUth can change the world!”
