Hello! I’m Anne-Rosa and I spend most of my time researching & writing about medical sciences, especially immunology and neuroimmunology. I aspire to help as many people as possible in my life, both in a research and clinical setting, hence, helping young people flourish at the forefront of scientific development at Youth STEM Matters has been an absolute marvel.
As part of the Youth STEM Matters Team, Anne-Rosa has:
Led the development of the Life Sciences branch of the Research Team, with a particular focus on improving quality of peer review
Participated in the Youth STEM Summit, as the Session Host of the ‘Lightning Talks: The Big Challenges’ session
Created journal Guidelines for the Presentation of Code
Initiated and led the Dr Ida Noddack Project
Conducted interviews for Reviewers in the August 2020 application cycle
Initiated Research Team undertaking The Open University course ‘Ethics in Science?’ and guided associated team discussions
Assessed applications and conducted interviews for Editors & Managing Editor in June/July 2020
Represented Youth STEM 2030 as a Panel Speaker at the World Oceans Day Youth-a-thon
Assessed applications for a range of roles in the June 2020 and April 2020 application cycles
Reviewed 4 papers, with 100% completed on time (as of 8-12-2020)
As part of Co-Founding Youth STEM Matters, Anne-Rosa:
Wrote the Youth STEM Matters Ethics Policy
Co-wrote the Youth STEM Matters Author Checklist
Jointly created the Editorial Task used in the Volunteer Team application process
Led the development of Reviewer & Copy-Editor Training Phase, and has since delivered training on ‘What Makes a Good Article: Original Research’ and ‘What Makes a Good Article: Review Article’
Reviewed key organisation-wide policy documents
Worked as a part of a team on journal ideation, research and development
